Acrylic

A combination of liquid monomer and acrylic powder, when mixed they harden and create a durable and natural looking surface. Acrylic can be applied over tips or over the natural nail. The most popular look is French but we do also have colours available and do nail art (please request extra time for art).

With all nail systems from Gelish to Acrylic, there is a certain amount of care that must be taken by the client, here are a few tips for keeping the nails healthy and looking good:

Keep Your Nails Dry
If your acrylic/gel nail tips or nails are constantly wet, the acrylic overlays can lift from your natural nail. Even a slight separation can be an invitation for a host of bacterial and fungal infections. Towel dry your nails thoroughly after you wash your hands, shower or swim. Wear gloves when you do dishes or clean the bathroom.

Use Antibacterial Soap
Bacteria can get under your acrylic/gel and attack your natural nail, causing discoloration and deterioration of the nail bed. This can lead to permanent damage. Prevent it by using antibacterial soap each time you wash your hands.

Fix Damaged Nails Immediately
If you accidentally break or chip one of your nails, or if you notice that one is lifting away from your natural nail, stop by the nail salon and have it repaired right away. This way, you can prevent water from seeping into the nail bed, which can cause fungus and bacteria to grow.

Use Non-Acetone Polish Remover
Want to change your polish? Acetone can dissolve acrylic/gel/gelish nails, so use a non-acetone remover.

We at Pink Petals are committed to providing a high quality service to all our clients. If you are unsatisfied with your nail application, we need to know immediately if anything is to be rectified. We have a Seven Day Policy for fixing any faults we have made with the application of Gel, Acrylic and Gelish. Anything thereafter will be charged as a maintenance appointment
